Project overview
Akıllı Testler is an e-learning platform that provides high school students with easy access to courses and tests to boost learning process.
Project duration: Dec 2019 to Feb 2020
The Problem
Test processes for students needed clear assistant and new tool set and teacher pages needed a better organized dashboard with easy to read, modern report pages.
The Goal
The aim is redesign UI to create an easy dashboard for both teachers and students.
Responsibilities
My role was redesigning the Information Architecture (IA) and key pages layout/wireframes of Akıllı Testler website.
Target User
High school students that are preparing for the university exam and teachers.
User Research
I conducted remote interviews with some teachers and students to have a better understanding of my target audience. My key findings were:
- Both teachers and students wants to be able to track learning progress.
- Students want to have a feel of the course before deciding if registering is the best option.
- Some students wants a quiz feature to put knowledge to test as well as view performance grade.
- Students need to be rewarded to stay motivated.
Competitive Analysis
I conducted a competitive study on three online learning platforms to understand their strengths and weakness. My competitive analysis produced the these insights:
- The average number of visits was high but the number of registrations recorded was low.
- The percentage of completed courses was low due to lack of motivation.
- Teachers wanted to easy tools to track each student’s progress.
Persona Creation
I’ve created one persone for the students and one for the teacer to be able to see the different user behaviours.
Key Path Scenarios
Now that I had empathized with the target users and identified their needs, I came up with some key features and created an information architecture such that there was a minimal level of difficulty to access relevant information.
- Key features
- Create a dashboard for both teachers and student to view progress and performance.
- Enable students to use platform with flexibility and creative assets.
- Create a built-in, personalized reminder to enable users to complete their courses.
User Flow
An information architecture was created from the insight obtained from the interview.
Style Guide
I wanted to create a refreshing, minimalist and clean UI. I worked a style guide before diving fully into creating the final design.
